Beach vacations are great if you love the water, the sun, the sand, the surf or all of the above! But your local beach, no matter how scenic, can get old after a while.
Luckily, there are amazing beaches all over the globe. Here are the top ten contenders.
One of the most well-known beaches in all of Bermuda, Horseshoe Bay has certainly earned its name as one of the best beaches in the world. This soft pink sandy beach with its crystal blue Atlantic Ocean waters is on the south coast of the main island of Bermuda in the Southampton Parish. During the busy summer, this beach is manned by a lifeguard during the day, and there’s also a café with snacks, showers, toilet facilities and an area where you can wash the sand off of your feet before leaving. Due to its popularity, a shuttle bus runs during the day that connects the beach with local bus stops. This makes Horseshoe Bay easily accessible no matter what your vacation travel methods, and the bus fare is under $5, so it won’t wreck your budget, either!
If you’re looking for some fun in the sun, Horseshoe Bay delivers. Volleyball is a regular pastime there, and there’s even a competition held every summer. This slice of beach paradise is also often the place for New Year’s Eve parties and the home of the Bermuda Good Friday KiteFest, which takes place on Good Friday each year. The biggest annual celebration in Bermuda, Beachfest, also is held on this beach in late July or early August and features cultural traditions, entertainment, sports and more for two days straight. One beautiful hidden secret of Horseshoe Bay is the often-overlooked Port Royal Cove. This small cove is carved out by magnificent rocks, which makes quite a vivid contrast against its clear waters and soft pink sand. If you’re looking for shallower waters or just want to take in the scene without all of the tourists, do not forget to check out this cove. Nearby, there is a beach house that offers water sports rentals and snacks, and there’s also a changing facility.
